Charlotte Chang

Charlotte Chang, DrPH, MPH

Life Coach and Public Health Professional

Bio

Charlotte Chang brings almost 20 years of experience in the field of public health and worker health and safety. She is trained in qualitative research and program evaluation and was particularly focused on community participation and partnerships in public health and on immigrant worker populations. She has published journal articles and book chapters on her work and taught graduate courses in health and social behavior. In 2020, she left the workforce to care for her young child and elderly father. She is now training to be a life coach where she hopes to support people who are changing the world to find greater inner freedom and unleash their full selves in their lives and in their work.

Juliette Grimmet

Juliette Grimmett, MPH

Sexual Violence Prevention Expert and Founder of Chrysalis Network

Bio

Juliette Grimmett is the Founder of Chrysalis Network and Co-Founder of Harassment Free NC. She has over 25 years of professional experience advocating for survivors as well as creating and implementing interactive gender-based violence prevention and response programs that call people to action. In addition to consulting, she serves as the Sexual Assault Victim Policy Strategist for the NC Department of Justice where she works to enhance trauma-informed responses to survivors of sexual violence in NC. Juliette is also a survivor of campus rape and has shared her story at many Take Back the Night events as well as with legislatures, law enforcement, prosecutors, SANE, and on national television and nationally printed media. Juliette is a fierce advocate for survivors, holding offenders accountable, and dismantling all forms of oppression. She holds a master’s in public health degree from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Ursula Hairston

Ursula Hairston, MPA

Assistant Vice Chancellor for HR Strategy

Bio

Ursula Baker Hairston currently serves as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for HR Strategy in University Human Resources at NC State University.  She previously served as the Human Resources Director for the NC Department of Environmental Quality.  Prior to DEQ, Hairston served as an Assistant Equal Opportunity Officer and then as the Assistant Vice Provost for Equal Opportunity in the Office for Institutional Equity & Diversity at NC State. Before joining the Wolfpack Community in December 2010, Hairston was the HR Director for the Office of State Budget & Management and the Office of the Governor for over 6 years. Hairston held various roles in human resources at the state and local levels. She began her career in non-profit administration and then went into Alumni Relations at her undergraduate alma mater, Wake Forest University. In 2000, Hairston received her Masters in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Hairston is SPHR certified and holds a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.

Nikki Price

Nikki Price, MHR, PHR, SHRM-CP

Assistant Dean for Culture, Talent, and Human Resources

Bio

Chiniqua “Nikki” Price serves as the Assistant Dean for Culture, Talent and Human Resources in the College of Sciences at NC State University. She is a human resources executive in higher education with over 20 years of strategic and operational experience. Nikki is a creative problem-solver and a collaborative leader who takes a people-centric approach to her work. She inspires excellence and fosters an environment that embraces, promotes and celebrates diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. 

Nikki holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from North Carolina Central University and a Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Western Carolina University. She also holds certifications as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR), Society for Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), Gallup Certified Clifton Strengths Coach, and an Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) Qualified Administrator.

Nadia Singh

Nadia Singh, PhD

Associate Professor of Biology and Assistant Dean for Diversity

Bio

Nadia Singh’s mission is to educate and empower. She earned her PhD from Stanford University and was a postdoctoral associate at Cornell University. She spent seven years as a faculty member at North Carolina State University before joining the UO faculty in 2017. She is currently an Associate Professor of Biology and an Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the College of Arts and Sciences. Nadia’s research uses a combination of experimental, bioinformatic, and computational tools to address fundamental questions in evolutionary genetics. The mission of the Singh lab is to create and share new knowledge in evolutionary genetics and to cultivate a culture of curiosity and rigorous scientific exploration. Central to that mission is the development and maintenance of a diverse and inclusive environment that fosters interaction and productivity.
